Hey there and welcome back to my blog. If you’ve read my previous post then you would have seen that I have been using the new Revolution Conceal & Define Foundation and I thought I would share my thoughts on it with you all so that you can see if I think it’s good or not.
Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer Review (click here).
I have been obsessed with the Conceal & Define Concealer since they released it, so when I found out that they were making a foundation of it I was so ready to try it. I picked up the shade F2 because the palest shade is actually really pale and for reference I’m usually the shade Ivory in other Foundations. The packaging of the foundation is the same as the Concealer, but obviously is slightly bigger packaging and you get 30ml of product which is standard for foundations. As with the concealer, the foundation also has a dofer applicator which is also bigger. I love dofoot applicators work really well for Foundations as you can easily spread the product on your face and the blend it in with a sponge or brush and it works for someone like me who hates washing makeup brushes as I’m not using a foundation brush haha!
The foundation itself works really well as it’s high coverage, without being cakey, it didn’t seem to cling to dry patches and it lasts really well through the day without looking oily. However, I did notice that when I used the foundation and concealer as a combo itdid look a little cakey so in the future I would use a lighter weight concealer or even not use one at all because it does have really good coverage by itself. I would say that it has a natural finish, not completely matte but also not entirely glowy and I would say to be careful if you have really dry skin because although this didn’t cling to my dry patches I think very well could do because of the finish. So I would recommend using a damp beauty blender to keep that moisture within the foundation.
Now let’s move onto the wear test. I applied my makeup at 6am and went to remove it at 6pm and as it had to stay on for a solid 12 hours I didn’t expect it to look great at the end of the day but I was SHOOK. The foundation looked pretty much the same when I first applied it as it did when I went to take it off. Aside from the fact that it got a little bit oily around my nose and on my chin, which every foundation does, due to my skin type so I wasn’t totally bothered by it. Also, although it was oily in those areas, it didn’t feel like it was coming off or sliding off my face (sounds gross but some products can feel like this) but this still felt comfortable on the skin.
Overall I am very pleased with how this foundation performed and it definitely lived up to expectations. I really hope you enjoyed this post and I will see you soon with another one!
