My skincare routine is always chopping and changing, but after trying a number of new products over the past few months I have finally found the products that work for me. I have previously share skincare routines with you so I thought I’d update you with all the products I am using now!!
Let’s start with cleansers – I’m always alternating between them because my skin changes between dry and oily very often. To remove my makeup I’ve been using the Revolution Skincare Gentle Eye Makeup Remover. I just take a small amount of the product round my eyes and brow area in circular motions to loosen to any makeup and then I wipe it away with warm water and a flannel. I will then use the Cleansing Jelly, also from Revolution Skincare to remove the rest of my makeup and give it a cleanse. I have actually run out of my scrub, but one I always use and love is the ESPA ProCleanser, which will stop the pores from clogging with any makeup left over.
You can read my review of the new Revolution Skincare Cleansers here!
Once I’m all cleansed, I’ll then use the Revolution Superfruit Replenishing Essence Spray as this works like a toner. I’ve been using these Revolution Sprays for so long now, since switching from the Mario Badescu ones and I couldn’t be without it. It’s really hydrating and has also helped to clear my skin. It’s also perfect to use as well as a moisturiser so you don’t use too much and get a greasy face, which again can cause breakouts.
I probably user a scrub like 2 – 3 times a week and on those days I tone with the Environ derma-lac lotion. This product has Hydroxy Acid in it which works to exfoliate the skin so it’s not good to use a scrub and this on the same day.
Moving onto eyes I have recently been using the Environ Youth EssentiA Eye Gel and I have been really liking it. As I have quite dry skin around my eyes, I was looking for something very hydrating but would also help sort out my dark circles as well as stopping my under eyes getting more creases … and so far, so good. Environs products are a little on the pricey side, but with constant use and a strict skincare routine they genuinely do work wonders.
I then use Environ Avance Elixir which is a really nice refreshing serum which is supposed to be good for reducing an uneven skin tone and helps to protect the skin from UV’s … I just haven’t been using it long enough to comment on whether it does work for this or not. To follow this step I apply one of my all time favourite moisturisers, which is the Revolution Hydration Boost which is gel cream and I find this to be less greasy than a lot of other moisturisers as it hydrates but almost feels as if you don’t have anything on your skin.
I then finish off my skincare routine with the ByBi Strawberry Booster Oil, which is really hydrating and cooling on the skin. It’s works wonders on breakouts, impurities and dry skin … I’d describe it as like a drink of water to your face.
If my skin needs some more TLC, I will then decide to do a deeper overnight treatment which includes the ESPA Overnight Hydration and the the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream. I cannot rave about the Overnight Hydration enough, it’s almost a cross between a Serum and a Face Mask. There’s no faff, you just rub a little bit into your skin (just like you would with a moisturiser) and just rinse it off in the morning. It’s also got lavender in it, so will help you have a great nights sleep. I would use the FAB Ultra Repair Cream instead of the Revolution one I previously mentioned, because this one’s a little bit thicker and more of a deeply hydrating cream.
I then just pop on some lip balm … usually just any one I have in my collection, but the one I’m using at the moment is the Natural Extracts Strawberry one!
I’m sure you’ve all heard me rave about the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion a lot on my blog and it still plays a part in my routine. This is another product that I have recently ran out of but even after all these years I still love it and use it religiously. It just works a treat. I just apply this on any of my break outs before bed and by the morning it’s either pretty much gone or is at least clearing up. I always used to use Toothpaste or Sudocrem but I always found that it would either sting too much, or I’d wake up with it all over my quilt and pillows … but with the MB Drying Lotion it drys down so I don’t have that problem.
So, there we have my evening skincare routine. I really hope you enjoyed this post and I will see you in a few days with a new, but particularly exciting, post.
