It’s time for my first collab post of the year and it’s in collaboration with the lovely Mimi from glitzandglitter.blog! Mimi and I decided that we would share a monthly favourites post so that we could share our favourite products that we have loved throughout the month of January. All of my January favourites are products that I was lucky enough to be gifted for Christmas, and over the past month or so I’ve been trying them out and really loving using them and I thought this style post would be better to share them than a typical ‘What I Got For Christmas’ post. I really hope you enjoy the read and don’t forget to check out Mimi’s post too!
My first favourite of this month is the Benefit Hoola Lite Bronzer. I always struggle to find bronzers that suit my skin tone that aren’t too orange or dark, and this one has really helped. I love the original Hoola, but this one has less of an orangey/brown tone to it, as it’s cooler and so it works to contour and warm up the face at the same time. Although it’s quite pricey at £24.50, I do love the way it looks, it doesn’t go patchy, it’s easy to blend out … and I’m kinda hoping that W7 Cosmetics brings out a dupe for this!!
My next favourite is the Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation, which I use the shade 1.0, although this is slightly too light for me. I decided to ask for this foundation for Christmas as it’s one that I have heard so many good things about, but I asked for shade 1.0 as I’m used to other brands small shade range, but I’m soo impressed with UD as they have 24 shades of all different undertones!! This foundation is full coverage, but isn’t cakey or thick, it doesn’t cling to my dry patches but also doesn’t make my skin oily. I just need to find my correct shade and honestly, I think I’m going to be obsessed!!
Next up, is the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette, which has been on my wishlist for what feels like years now and I was finally able to get my hands on it. I was umm-ing and ahh-ing whether to buy this as it’s quite pricey and if I didn’t like it, it would’ve been a waste of money … but I’ve been really loving this. You can just feel the quality in both the packaging and the eye shadows, they obviously smell incredible, they’re so buttery and pigmented, I honestly cannot fault this palette. I also love that it has different colours including Burgundy, Khaki, Purple, Pale Pink and many others, so you can create lots of different looks and can be used throughout the year for different seasons and occasions … as well as natural/ neutral looks and more glam looks.
Aside from their Foundations and moisturiser, I’ve never really tried any of No7’s products but after getting this Body Polish for Christmas I’ve used this every day. This scrub isn’t harsh on the skin so I like to use this everyday or every other day (depending on when I need to) … it also finishes the legs of nicely once I’ve finished shaving. This scrub has a subtle lemon scent that is so refreshing and lingers on the skin for the rest of the day, after getting out of the shower.
My last favourite of this month is the Lush Lip Scrub in Chocolate. I have loved Lush’s Lip Scrubs for years now and I use them every single day to prep my lips for lipstick/gloss. I’ve used the Bubblegum, Popcorn and Santa Baby lip scrubs before, which I love, but I can honestly say that this Chocolate one is my favourite so far!! (click here to buy)
