January Favourites .

I’m in two minds about whether January actually went by in a flash or whether it’s dragged out. I’ve heard so many people talking about how this month feels like it gone on forever. I almost feel as if it’s flown by, but then I think back to New Years and that feels like soo long ago. Anyways, throughout this month I’ve been using lots of new products as a lot of them either were kindly gifted to me at Christmas or I’ve bought with Christmas money. This means that there are lots of products to include in my January favourites and most of them I’ve not spoken about on my blog yet … how exciting. Without me rambling anymore, let’s get into actually talking about my favourites.

I did include some of these items in a recent haul post, so if you would like to take a peek at what beauty bits I bought this month then please click here.

So, my first favourite for this month has been the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in the Shade Ivory. I’ve only actually been using this for around two weeks, but I cannot put it down. I’m such a fan of Drugstore Foundations … particularly Rimmel ones … and this one didn’t not disappoint. They’re always such a good colour match for me, with the correct undertones, that it just works perfectly for an everyday foundation. This one also is really comfortable on the skin and it works particularly well for my combination skin, as it doesn’t cling to dry patches and it also doesn’t seem to look like it’s gonna slide off my skin where it’s oily … gross, I know!!

Next up is the Urban Decay Naked Concealer in Fair Neutral and this used to be one of my favourite and my go-to concealers a year or so ago, but then I sort of neglected it when I found the Revolution Conceal & Define. However, recently I’ve been trying to use a range of products in my collection as I felt that a lot of it was just sitting there and not being used and now I can’t put it down again. For me, it is a little bit pricey for an everyday concealer as it retails at £19.50, but I do think that it works really well, so if you can afford to spend a little more on this then I would highly recommend it.
I did actually write a review on this concealer, so if you would like to read more in detail about it then please click here.

This Revolution Baked Bronzer is another very new favourite for me, but I just couldn’t wait until next month to share it with you. I actually got this in the I Heart Revolution Chocolate Heart Set and it was such a steal at just £15 for 2 eye shadows palettes, a face palette and this bronzer. I’m not really a fan of glowy bronzes, as I usually like them to be completely matte, however this one gives such a nice bronzey glow and would be particularly perfect for a holiday no makeup, makeup look!

My next favourite is this Look Fantastic Makeup Brush, I’m not exactly sure on the name of it as it came in their Beauty Advent Calendar, but I’ve really been liking using this brush for both my highlight and to set my under eyes if I’m not baking. I don’t usually get on with fan brushes as I find they don’t pick up much product, however this one is a little thicker than most of the fan brushes that I’ve tried and it picks up a good amount of product to give a popping highlight! I think that it would also be a really good brush to travel with as it’s double sided, small and can be used for powder, bronzer and blush too!

Last but not least is the Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Berry Jelly Moisturiser from Boots and I actually forgot how much I used to really like this. I’m always switching up my skincare routine so that my skin doesn’t get too used to the products I’m using, but since I’ve been breaking out more recently I’ve decided to take a step back from using lots of oils and hydrating products as I feel that this has been a contribution to my break outs. This Jelly Moisturiser works really well for me as it sinks into the skin almost immediately, it has tee tree and witch hazel in it which is supposed to be good for helping with spot prone skin and it doesn’t sit on the skin or seem to block the pores … which is what actually causes a spot to grow. If you have spot prone skin too and want something thats going to keep your skin hydrated without that oily or sticky feeling, then this one will be right up your street. Also it’s only like £4 at Boots with a buy 1 get the second 1/2 price and you can shop here.

And there we have it, my January favourites! I really hope you enjoyed reading about the products that I have been loving throughout the first few weeks of this year. I am actually going on holiday tomorrow so I will be taking a break from blogging whilst I’m away and I will be back at it with a new post on the 11th January.
