And H E L L O A P R I L! I always get so excited to share to share my favourites with you every month and this one is no exception. I have really been using lots of new products over the past few months and I’ve found some real good products, a lot of them are cheap and drugstore as well.
My first favourite is No7 Stay Perfect Foundation in the shade Calico. This used to be my go-to favourite foundation for so many years, especially when I first started wearing makeup everyday and after finding many other faves and forgetting about this one, I decided to try it out again to see if it was still one of my all times faves. I really like how perfectly this matches my skin (I got matched years ago), it’s very light weight but also has good coverage and it lasts really well on the skin, without going oily or patchy etc. I couldn’t recommend this Foundations to you enough and at such a great price too, it’s deffo worth a try!!
Let’s talk about the Huda Beauty Emerald Obsessions palette which I had my eye on for such a long time, but didn’t think I would actually use. However, recently I have really been experimenting with makeup and trying new types of looks, rather than my basic overused orange / warm smokey eye. A couple of months ago, whilst I was on a delayed train, I decided to use my spare time wisely (well I think it’s wisely anyway haha!) I’ve only used this once but I really like the way the look turned out and I can’t wait to play around with it some more. The palette details at £25 which does seem a little pricey for a small palette with 9 shadows, but I do think the quality of the shadows and the pigment in them is really good so for me I’d say it’s worth it … especially for a luxury product!
Last month, or maybe the month before, in my Birchbox I received this Chella Brow Pomade which has very quickly become my go-to and I absolutely love it. I did say in my Unboxing post that I thought the shade Taupe may be too light, but it’s actually the perfect colour for me. It comes with an angled brow brush one end and the pomade in the other, this isn’t only handy for every day use but for travelling as well. This retails at $26 which does seem quite pricey but I just know that I’ll be stocking up whenever I’ve finished a tube of this!!
Next up is the Colab Dry Shampoo which I picked up from Pretty Little Thing. I decided to pick this up just because I was in desperate need of a dry shampoo and I was ordering off of PLT anyway. I knew this would come next day and it was also fairly cheap at £3.50 so I just added it to my basket. I’m so fussy when it comes to dry shampoos because normal ones show up in my brown hair and brunette dry shampoos just leave it feeling dirty. When I saw that this said it was invisible, I thought it would be the best bet for me. I really love the way this smells. Although it does go a little bit grey at first, it blends out easily and you wouldn’t even know you’ve got it in your hair!!
The I Heart Revolution Flamingo Easter Egg palette is still very new to my collection but it’s still easily a new revolution fave for me. I’m sure you all know by now that I seem to love every product revolution come out with and that’s because they’re such good quality and really well priced. I’m not going to say too much about this one because I just published a review on each of the Easter Egg palettes last week and you can read this one here.
The Revolution Hydraboost Moisturiser is also very new to my collection … you may have seen me mention it in a previous haul post … and it definitely lived up to expectations. I heard so many good things about Revolution Skincare products so I was very excited to try this out. I love using more gel based moisturisers because they sink into the skin rather than sitting on top of it and looking greasy like a lot of cream based moisturisers do. I really like how hydrating this is, and also how little of the product you actually have to use each time and this means that this lasts a little longer than any of my other moisturisers.
My last favourite for the month of March is the Obsessions Dewy Fix Setting Spray. I never actually know whether it’s the setting spray or the primer that helps with the longevity of my makeup, or even both, but I still couldn’t miss out this important step. I have combination skin and it does get quite oily throughout the day, meaning that I have to use a whole lot of powder to make sure that it stays matte for as long as possible, but this can lead to my skin feeling really dry and also having the products stick to my dry patches. So I like to use a little, or a lot, of this to take away that powdery look and feel. I really like this one because it gives a natural glow to the skin, without it being to oily for me, its really refreshing and it’s also so much cheaper than my ultimate fave which is MAC fix+.
Great favorites! I love the shades of that emerald palette – so perfect for spring! -Jenna ♥Stay in touch? The Chic Cupcake
