Hi there! Seeing as Halloween / Autumn is one of my favourite times of the year, I thought I would share some of the popular attractions and things to do in and around Sussex for this time of year. This is a very different post to something I have done before. but I am looking forward to sharing lots of different content with you in the next few months. I hope you enjoy and if there’s anything else you think I should’ve mentioned or you would recommend, then please leave them in the comments below.
1. Roundstone Pick Your Own – Ferring, West Sussex.
One thing that screams Halloween to me are pumpkins and pumpkin picking is something that I think I’ve done once or twice, despite living so close to this one. Roundstone PYO is loved by so many for picking fresh fruit and veg throughout the year. Strawberry picking was something I really enjoyed growing up and have some fond memories of doing so. If you watch Zoella’s Videos or read her Blog, then you may have seen her and Mark come here a lot and obviously, it’s a very instagrammable place. Roundstone PYO is one I could recommend for anyone of all ages and I’m definitely planning on going this year!
2. Tulley’s Farm – Crawley, West Sussex.
Tulley’s Farm Shocktover Fest is one of my favourite Halloween attractions to visit, but I don’t do it nearly enough. I’m sure you’ve all heard about this one as many influencers and celebs rave about it every year … as well as ordinary people, like me, of course!! The tickets for this one can seem a little bit pricey, but you do get to see all of the attractions and they have a lot to offer including 10 Haunts & Scaremazes, lots of lovely cosy food & drinks including hog roasts and mulled wine. As well as lots of sweet treats like waffles, pancakes and crepes (the food and drink is all at an extra cost). A number of bars and live music too, so I think it’s worth every penny! My favourite attractions of them all are the Chop Shop and the Hayride.

3. Thorpe Park Fright Night – Chertsey, Surrey.
I’m sure everyone in the south/ south east has been to Thorpe Park’s fright night at least once … well everyone except me that is. I always plan on going every year, but everything just get’s super busy and I don’t end up going. I hear so many good things and read so many amazing reviews about how Thorpe Park goes all out for their fright night. And some of the highlights of the spooky period include live action mazes, the whole park is spookily decorated (if that’s even a word) and there are actors all dressed up roaming around the park. Their fright nights run on selected dates from the end on September to early November and they always have new spooks each Halloween, that aren’t there for the rest of the year. One thing I like about Thorpe Park is that their fright ‘nights’ last from 10am to 10pm … obviously it would be more spooky at night, but it does make it easier for anyone to go, whether it’s during the day or just for the evening. I can imagine it would be the perfect time to brave the Saw Maze.
4. Screampark Pier Party – Brighton, East Sussex.
I hadn’t actually heard of the Screampark Pier Party until this year, but apparently it’s been really popular since 2012. If you haven’t heard of this one, it’s basically a Halloween party that takes place on Brighton pier on Halloween night. Entry includes unlimited rides, live scare actors, creepy stalls and even entry to 4 after parties which are fancy dress and there will be games, DJ’s and apparently lots more.
5. Ghost Walk of the Lanes – Brighton, East Sussex.
Last, but not least, is the Ghost Walk of the Lanes and this is one that I have wanted to do for soo long now, but I just seem to forget about it every year. I’m not actually sure if this one is on all year round or for a long period of time, or whether it is just on around Halloween, but this is deffo something I want to get around to doing during the Spooky season.
