Star Sign Makeup Look Series | Gemini #2.

Welcome back to a new post on my blog, where I will be sharing part 2 of my current series which is a makeup look based on the star sign of Gemini. I was going to do this series in order but I thought I would just share the looks as and when I do them. Although it does help having something to guide me when doing these types of looks, in terms of colours and related elements/ symbols, it still takes time for find some inspiration behind a look. Anyway, let’s get into the post and see what I look created.

This time whilst searching for some information behind the star sign, I found a website which shares related colours, symbols, elements, flowers and whole lot more on each star sign and this has helped me to create a look, so much more so that when I was researching about Aries. That site is linked here for reference. Using the information from this site, I decided to use mainly greens and blend it out with a yellow, so that I was including both colours.  Also, I don’t know about you, but I have always associated Gemini with purple, however according to this website nothing related the two. But I thought to finish the look off and to make it a little bit different to previous looks I have done and also future looks I’ll be doing for this series, (because a few of the signs colours include green) that I would add a pop of purple underneath the eye and smoke it out a little bit.

I started off by using the Beauty Bay EYN Bright Matte Palette and blending ‘Slice of Lime‘ and ‘Granny Smith‘ into my crease and used ‘Hello Sunshine‘ to make a less harsh edge. I’ve been doing a lot of cut crease looks lately, so I decided to do a halo eye for this look and used the Revolution Cut Crease Canvas in White Halo. I then decided to use the Huda Beauty Obsessions Emerald palette and take the gold shimmer (bottom right) and pack it onto the centre of my lid to create that halo look. I then decided to deepen the inner and outer corner of my eyes with the deep green also from this palette (middle right). To add the pop of purple on the lower lash line, I mixed together ‘Purple Power‘ and ‘Cosmopolitan‘ from the EYN palette. Of course I had to add the symbol into the look somehow and you don’t want to know how many times this one messed up … even though it is arguably the easiest one out of the lot. I did want to use the NYX Yellow Liquid Liner for the symbol, but after many failed attempts I just went with a basic Black Liquid Liner from Revlon. I’m still using my favourite lashes from an eBay set, which I always seem to be talking about but they’re linked here (3D-52).
