Hey there and welcome to a new post on my blog. I’m not really one to talk about myself very regularly on my blog and I’ve had a few questions really about blogging and if I have any advice to give. So when I came across this TAG, I thought I would answer these questions to hopefully have an insight into what blogging is like. Anyway, let’s get answering.
- When did you start your Blog?
I started Blogging on the 25th January 2017.
- Why did you start a Blog?
Honestly … I don’t know. It was very much a spur of the moment decision as within 5 minutes of having the idea of starting one, my blog was live.
- When did you start becoming serious about starting a blog?
I don’t know if by ‘serious’ it means like a career, but for me I’ve always taken it seriously by trying to make my content the best that I can and keeping up with it as often as possible. However, I don’t know if it will ever be a job for me, because I feel like it would then almost feel like a chore, like something I’d have to do. But for me I just want it to be something I enjoy and post what I love. Whether that be everyday or once a month … even once every few months.
- How many hours a week do you spend planning/writing/uploading posts?
Due to the lock down at the moment I would say 7/8 hours a day. I’ve been getting really stuck into blogging again recently and I’m making the most of all this extra time to not only be more active with posting, but to also get a head for when this is all over. However, on your regular week when I’m working and have day to day things to be getting on with, I’d probably only spend an hour or 2 everyday and 3 or 4 hours on a weekend. So, I’d say an average of 15 hours a week give or take.
- When is it easiest for you to write your posts?
When I’m alone, haven’t got anything else to worry about or do, have some inspiration for a post and it just rolls off the tongue … or fingers in this case.
- Where do you see your blog in one year?
I would definitely like to include more Travel related content on my blog, as they’re posts that my readers seem to enjoy the most. I would also like to start doing fashion related posts too, like OOTD’s, hauls etc.
- What is the most rewarding thing to you about blogging?
There are many rewarding things about blogging but the main things would be seeing your hard work appreciated and enjoyed all over the world and meeting some amazing people. I’ve made quite a few friends over the years through blogging … however I’ve only ever been able to meet up with one of them due to the others living too far away.
That friend is Alix, she’s a Beauty YouTuber and she is so close to 3K subscribers. >> link here << She’s so lovely and I’m so proud of how well she is doing at the moment and I know you’ll love her videos so make sure you check her out.
- What’s your worst makeup/hair habit?
I’d say my worst hair habit is not doing anything with it, I literally wash it and then shove it up either in a ponytail or a bun and it’ll stay like that until I wash it next. Occasionally I wear my hear down but I still don’t touch it other than straightening two annoying ringlet curls I have. That’s what I get for having thick, curly, frizzy hair.
- What’s one quote you wish the world would live by?
I’m such a sucker for a good quote so I always have a different fave but at the moment it’s ‘be the change you wish to see in the world’.
- How long do you spend getting ready everyday?
If I’m literally going to work or not doing much, then I can get ready in like 20 minutes. But if I’m seeing friends or going somewhere for the day, then I’d probably give myself an hour or an hour and a half.
- What’s your favourite post on your blog?
My favourite blog post is always changing because old posts will come up in my stats or I’ll come across then when looking back in my archives but for the moment I would say that it’s my New York Pictures one because I miss it so much as it was such an amazing trip and I went not long before lock down so it’s when things were still some what normal. >> link here <<
Another one of my favourite posts, which actually has writing, is my Tips for Travelling to India alone as a Teen >> link here <<
- Who is a beauty blogger that you think deserve more subscribers than they have?
I’m really liking Talia Maizels videos at the moment. I’ve watched her for a good year, maybe two, now since she has like 5K subscribers. She is growing a lot recently but I do think she definitely deserves more recognition. I’m sure she will hit 100K soon.
- What’s one thing you’re excited about in the coming year?
Obviously, I’m saying this as if everything was or is going to go back to normal. But I do want to travel more, hopefully to LA, I want to go back to NYC as soon as possible and maybe a short break to Amsterdam or Paris, so yeah that’s one thing I’m looking forward to.
- What has been your favourite blogging moments?
Working with different Brands and Companies is definitely like a pat on the back for all the hard work that goes into blogging and I have been lucky to work with a few so far including Zaful, Ben & Anna UK and I have a new collab coming soon which I’m excited about. It’s particularly rewarding when brands contact you to work together.
- How long does it take to prep for a post?
I always have my note books and diary beside me, I will take the pictures first or make a title picture/ thumbnail I don’t really know what to call it. I also always have one of my favourite playlists at the time playing as it helps me to just get in the zone and get writing.
- Are you wearing jeans/ skirt right now or are you wearing pyjama bottoms?
I’m in Pyjama bottoms. I couldn’t comfortably sit and write if I was in jeans.
So, those were my answers to the Confessions of a Beauty Blogger TAG. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post, I really hope you enjoyed reading all about me and my blog.
