Hey there and welcome back to a new post on my Blog. I’ve posted a few Bucket list’s in my time Blogging, but I have always thought about the places I would like to visit outside of the UK and never really thought about the stunning places right on my doorstep, until recently. So for today’s post, I thought I would share with you my ‘UK Travel Bucket List!‘
I grew up just outside of Brighton, England and have travelled a little bit in the UK to places like the Isle of Wight, Cornwall, to London and a few other places nearby but I haven’t ventured much further north of London or into Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. So that is why I thought I would put this list together to encourage myself to do so in the near future. Just a little heads up that this list will include things that aren’t necessarily just the UK but the channel islands and Ireland too!
England:
- Explore the Yorkshire Dales
- See Stonehenge
- Visit the Roman Baths
- Go to Harry Potter World
- Go to Alton Towers
- Visit the Lake District
- Go up the Shard
Scotland:
- Go to the Edinburgh Christmas Markets – I’ve always liked the feel of Christmas Markets and the whole festive atmosphere but since I saw in Zoella’s vlog that they all went it’s just made me want to go even more!
- Go on a Boat Trip on the Lock Ness
- Visit the Shetland Islands – The Shetland Islands just look absolutely stunning and they have a number of things to do and visit.
- Isle of Skye and the Inner Hebrides
- Fort William and Ben Nevis
Wales:
- Go to Barry Island, Wales – This one might seem a little cringe but I’m sure I’m not the only one wanting to go here. The reason for that is I want to go and see where Gavin & Stacey was filmed. I just want to go and have a little nosey to be honest and I love a good seaside too!
- Snowdon Mountain Railway
- Snowdonia National Park
- Go on a Breacon Beacons Tour
- Wales also has a number of beautiful beaches that would be great to spend the day at during the Summer

Channel Islands:
- The Channel Islands of Jersey and Guernsey have always been somewhere I’d like to visit as they’re so close to home but would feel like you’re abroad. They have so many beautiful coves and beaches, but also have lots of tourist attractions to visit including museums, castles and Zoo’s. These are definitely places I would do my research for the best places to stay and the best things to do.
Northern Ireland & Republic of Ireland:
- Go to a Riverdance Show
- Take a trip to Spike Ireland, Cork to Irelands Alcatraz
- Go to the Titanic Museum in Belfast
- Dublin – I have been to Dublin before when I was younger, but I would love to go back now I’m older as I don’t really remember much of it.
- EPIC the Irish Emigration Museum
HAVE YOU BEEN TO ANY OF THESE PLACES? ARE THERE ANY PLACES I SHOULD ADD TO MY LIST?
So, that was my list of 20 or so places I would like to visit and things I would like to do in and around the UK. This was just a short of list of each country as I know there is lots more to do and see but this list would’ve been very long otherwise. I really hope you enjoyed this post and I would love to know if you’ve visited any of these places, in the comments below. I will see you in a few days with a new post, but until then be sure to check out my previous post!!
I would love to go to Harry Potter World! Have fun, it sounds amazing :)www.beautyfromkatie.blogspot.com
I’ve always wanted to go to the shard too! It looks amazing and I bet the view from up there is incredible! XKate// itskaterose.com
I know it looks insane😍🏙☺️x
I’d also recommend looking up the North Coast 500/NC500 – it’s a 500-mile road trip around the very north of Scotland and while I haven’t done it myself, I know a lot of people who have and the photos are absolutely stunning!!! You can do it in about 5 days too and camp or stay in lodges and it would be a fab holiday if you are looking for something within the UK, especially this year when holidays abroad are a bit iffy.

Wales has so much to offer, the Brecon Beacons are beautiful and if you make it here, you should climb Pen Y Fan which is in Brecon, it’s an amazing achievement! x

That’s a great list. I live close to the Dales and still haven’t explored them. I’d love to go to some of the Scottish islands too.
As for recommendations, the Peak District is beautiful and I can’t recommend the Northumberland coast enough.

I’m the opposite to you I think, I’ve done a lot of things north but not much towards the south coast and south of London!
We did the roman baths in Bath this year for my 30th and it was really interesting – would thoroughly recommend. We also had a nice weekend in Harrogate which is fab location for leeds, york and the dales!
