And hello September. What a *different* summer we’ve had eh? But it’s now time to say goodbye to the warm weather, the bikinis and the cocktails in the sun and hello to cozy nights but the fire, the beautiful autumn leaves and the delightful spice scents. It may seem a little bit early for some people, but for me I’m ready and my favourite few months of the year have begun. So, what products stood out to me this August?
My first favourite of this month is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Loose Highlighter in Vegas, which actually came as a free sample when I did a recent order on the ABH site. I hadn’t tried many Anastasia products before and I don’t think I’ve ever tried a loose highlighter before this so I was excited to try it. I’ve always loved powder and the occasional liquid highlighter but this one has quickly become a go to for me. It’s this stunning golden glow, with a slight shimmer to it and you need the tiniest amount of product on the blush for it to POP. It’s probably a bit over the top for everyday wear but I can’t stop reaching for it!
My next favourite is one of items I was lucky enough to receive for my birthday and it’s the Laura Mercier Creme Brûlée perfume. It has a mix of warm caramel, spun sugar, french vanilla and white musk which on paper sounded like such a ME fragrance and let me tell you, it’s exactly that. It is a sweet scent but the musk helps make it too sweet. I’m also super impressed with just how well the scent lasts as I can smell it just as well in the morning as I can later on in the afternoon and evening.
Also for my birthday, I received the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream in a skincare set. This is a product that I’ve heard so much about and have had my eye on for a while but I could never justify the price; even with the travel size, which is the one I’ve got here. I have been using this for just over a month now, morning and night and I still have probably about a weeks worth of product left so it’s definitely lasting longer than I first expected. My skin is all over the place, sometimes it’s dry, sometimes it’s really oily, it can be combination. I also have clear glowy skin or break outs and my skin does seem to have settled down in the last month or so which I would put down to the cream. It really keeps my skin hydrated, more plump and I’ve had lots of compliments on how my skins looking … aside from a few breakouts in the last few days. I’ve been using this alongside the multi-miracle glow, which is a 3-in-1 cleanser, mask and overnight treatment which will have contributed to the results. I’m still continuing to use this so I couldn’t do a full review, but so far, so good!
Another item form Charlotte Tilbury that I’ve been loving this month is the Pillow Talk lipstick which is a matte nude. As if my collection needed another matte nude lipstick but; it did! Although I have god knows how many of this *almost* exact same lip colour in my lipstick collection but I’ve found myself reaching for this a lot these past few weeks as it just feels so much nicer on the lips than a lot of other mattes as it’s creamier, not drying but also feels like a lipstick rather than a lip tint and just sinking into the lips. It’s a little pricey but I would recommend it if you like the more luxury high end products.
Although this month has been all about the high end products for me, I just couldn’t forget about revolution all together could I? So a couple of their products still found their way into my everyday makeup routine yet again. The first product being the Nath contour and highlighter palette from revolution PRO and it’s in collaboration with Natalia Siwiec. As usual the highlights BLINDINGGG but I’ve been really drawn to the contour and bronzer. If there was only one thing that Revolution always get right, it would be their contour and bronzer products. It’s such a perfect colour for my skin tone, not too dark, not too orange, they blend out really nicely and a little does go a long way. I also really like that the bronzer is more of a baked consistency and it has a little shimmer; this is surprising to me that I like it because I usually steer clear from shimmery bronzers but they compliment each other really well.
My last favourite of this month, also from revolution, is the Purifying Primer Water with Cannabis Sativa. Primer Water is one of those products that I just don’t have in my collection; if I get a facial spray it’s either a skincare one or a setting spray. However, I decided it was about time to pick one up and as I’ve heard lots of good things about Cannabis Sativa particularly for the skin, and it’s being highly raved about at the moment, I thought this would be a good one to try out. It’s said that CS is high in vitamin E which is good for combating free radicals and can be beneficial for reducing UV damage.
So those were my favourites for the month of August, I really hope you enjoyed this post and reading all about my current favourite products. Don’t forget to check out my previous post if you haven’t already and I will see you in a few days with a new post.
I’ve always wanted to try that Revolution spray as well as the other types of sprays in their range! Lovely august faves 😊
