We’ve come to the end of yet another month in this crazy year and also to the end of Blogtober. I can’t believe how fast it’s gone, how much I’ve enjoyed it and also how much planning a head has helped me to stay on top of things. Being the last day of the month I thought I would share one of my favourite posts to write and that’s my monthly favourites for October. This month I’ve been trying out new products that I bought at the end of September, before my ‘no spend’ month and a couple of oldie but goldies that I’ve found at the depths of my makeup collection.
Starting of with one of those products I’ve mentioned a couple of times already in posts this month and that’s the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Armed and Gorgeous Eye Palette. About a year ago I picked up the Ring the Alarm Palette, also from this collection, and fell in love with it almost instantly. I then came across this palette a few months back and have had my eyes on it since. It literally screams Autumn, has 3 different shades of orange, a couple of deep browns, 4 incredibly pigmented shimmers and one stunning green. Each shadow has incredible colour pay off to look exactly how it does in the pan with one swipe of the product and the shimmers don’t need you to work with them to give off the colour you want; again one swipe and BAM shimmer central. My Guide to the BEST Autumn Eye Palettes post includes swatches of this palette if you would like to see what I mean!!
Next up is the Charlotte Tilbury Classic Brown Eye Pencil. These past few months I’ve been really loving smokey eyes and finishing my looks off with liner in my waterline, however, after finding black to harsh, I wanted to try a brown one to see if it worked better. This liner really compliments my small eyes and makes them pop. I do find a lot of pencil eye liners can be quite scratchy and also don’t stay on the water line but this one glides on really nicely and lasts all day/ night. If you’re looking for a creamy pencil liner that isn’t scratchy and will actually last, this is the one for you!
I didn’t actually share my Glossybox unboxing for last month, but in the box I received the Wishful Yo Glow Enzyme Scrub which is a skincare line/ product made by Huda Kattan. I hadn’t heard of this brand before so I was really excited to try it and even after only a handful of uses out of this mini sample, my skin feels so smooth, has a really healthy glow about it AND it smells incredible. I don’t feel like I can give it a full review just yet, but I will be repurchasing this as I think it’ll do my skin wonders in the long run.
I’ve seen so many incredible Instagram eye looks using KOKO Lashes and way back in lock down (when I was actually on top of my IG game) I decided to treat myself to some as I was spending a lot of time improving my skills at the time. I decided to go for Fifth Ave as they’re long and fluffy and looked really good on the model on the website. I’m quite picky when picking out lashes because I have such small eyes but, although they’re really long, they compliment my eyes really well without being overpowering. I’ve used them a good handful of times and they still look as good as new, I highly recommend them!!
My last favourite for October is the CND Shellac Nail Polish in Nude Knickers. After spending way to much money getting a manicure and pedicure every month, I thought I would save myself some money and start doing them myself; especially as I am a trained Beauty Therapist. The name Nude Knickers basically speaks for itself as it’s a nude polish, but you can’t really tell you have any polish on. I’m really trying to grow my nails out and get them healthy again so I don’t really want too bright of a polish, which makes this one perfect for what I’m looking for. It’s also really good for french manicures as well if you don’t like dark or too pink of a nude.
So, there we have my favourites for the month of October and that brings us to the end of Blogtober. I really hope you enjoyed the content I have put out this month; whether you’ve read one post or all 31 of them (I’d actually be really interested to know if you have read them all) thank you so much for taking the time to read the posts I spend a lot of my time putting together. I do have a couple of posts planned for November but it’s time for me to start cracking on with my Blogmas content. I’ll see you soon with a new post, byeee.
Oh a French manicure! I haven’t had one of those in years! I am very tempted to try one now! 🙂
