Huda Beauty Naughty Nude Eye Palette Review. | Blogmas

Hiya lovelies! We’re into the final week before Christmas really starts; how exciting? This is also the last Blogmas post that I’m sitting down to write, as all other posts are now scheduled and ready to go, I just can’t believe just how quickly this years Blogmas writing has gone. For this evenings post, I will be reviewing the new, limited edition, Huda Beauty Naughty Nude Palette and sharing an eye look I created with it. I had such high hopes for this palette after falling in love with the Emerald Obsessions palette and with a price tag like it has, so let’s see if it lives up to my expectations.

I did have my eye on this gorgeous palette for a month or two before I eventually decided to give it a try. I must say with a price tag of £58 it was an instant put off, but I managed to find it on Boots in the Black Friday sale for about £46, so I went for it; and also the fact it’s limited edition, I didn’t want to miss out on it.

Packaging:

We all know just how much I love me some good packaging and this one is beyond stunning. It’s very sleek, yet minimal but has stunning festive colours. It feels very good quality, feels luxury and sturdy. The palette also has a pretty large mirror with 18 shades with decent sized pans. For an 18 shadow palette it isn’t huge so it’s easy to hold if you’re using the mirror and isn’t faffy. It is a little weighty, but is still a good size to take travelling and being so versatile, it’s definitely a palette I’d love to have in my case.

The Shadows:

In this palette you get 18 stunning shades, with a decent sized pan, 8 of which are mattes, 5 are high shine metallics, 3 multi-reflect shimmer cream marbles, 1 matte cream marble and is a sheer pearly gloss hybrid. As you can see from the swatches, the pigmentation is really good and they’re opaque after just one swipe onto the skin. The only shade you do have to work with is Slippery, which is the pearly gloss. Each shadow doesn’t have a lot of kickback which I find is great because there isn’t any wasted product.

From my first look at the palette, on pictures and in person, I was in awe of it. Each and every shade is completely jaw dropping; it feels as though there should be an ‘ahhhh‘ sound effect as you lift the lid. The colour story is so perfect, not only for this time of the year, but any time including everyday use because of the stunning matte nudes. You’ve got your browns, dark oranges, a gorgeous plum with a lighter pink perfect for a blending shade, stunning shimmers and foils of a mixture of different colours, all perfectly matched to go with every other shade and instantly make a look uber glam.  I also like the versatility of the palette, because when you’re spending a hefty amount on something, you want to be able to get use out of it; especially in a year where we’re not able to get glam as much as we might have previously.

They’re very smooth and buttery making them easy to blend and easy to get the colour pay off from the brushes. If you’re a long term reader of my Blog, you’ll know just how much I love a cut crease and the shimmers, foils and marbles are perfectly formulated for allow me to achieve these looks without working with them too much. The foils particularly apply smoothly and evenly in the first swipe and they’re very cold and opaque, but you can also blend them out to make them less harsh and more of a subtle shimmer.

Before I bought the palette, I had my eyes on Slippery as I thought it would be my favourite but since receiving the palette, I am so drawn to the marbles. Particularly Passion as it has a plum matte base with the most gorgeous icy blue reflects. I am, however, excited to dive into Desire as this one is the one that screams Christmas to me the most and with a mix of Tantric, it will be even better!

The Opinion:

So, what’s the verdict? Overall, I am very pleased that I decided to purchase the palette after a while of umming and ahhing. The shadows themselves are very high quality, with great pigmentation and a gorgeous array of colours and finishes. Really stunning packaging, a good sized mirror and the versatility that makes it good for travelling with too. Although it is quite pricey, for an eye shadow palette, it definitely feels luxury, it’s from a premium brand and lives up to the quality you would expect when paying that much. So, for me, it’s definitely worth the money and will last you a good while.

Have you tried the Naughty Nude Palette? Are you crushing on it RN?
