Valentines Gift Guide for Him & Her + Lockdown Date Ideas.

Hey there and welcome to a new post on my blog, I hope you’re all doing well. January has finally come to an end, which means it’s time to start thinking about Valentines day. For today’s post, I have teamed up with the lovely Grace from www.graceeleanor2.com to collab on a Valentines themed post where we will both be sharing a Valentines gift guide for him and her as well as some ideas on how you can spend the day in Lockdown, even if you’re apart.

*If you’ve come over from Grace’s Blog; hey, welcome to my little blog which is a little bit of everything site, I hope you enjoy my posts!*

For Her:

  • Homeware items:
Whether we’ve moved out yet or are still living at home, us girls love us some home ware bits. Cushions, candles or the love handles vase everyone and their mother has at the minute, trust me she’ll be over the moon with it!
  • Desenio Prints:
Another home wear item, but still just as important are prints; particularly Desenio prints because they seem to be the most hyped and have the most different types on sale. You can also design your own gallery wall of all her favourite things or to match her room.
  • Perfume/ Beauty Products:
I feel like this may be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of a gift for your girlfriend or or if you’re looking for a galentines gift, but you can’t go wrong with some makeup or perfume.
  • Personalised Necklace or other Jewellery :
Yeah, a cute little pendant on a necklace is cute, her name on the necklace is cute, but an even better idea would be to put your name on the necklace; she will LOVE it, I promise!!
  • Flowers:
Who doesn’t love receiving some flowers? It’s such a thoughtful gesture anyway, but especially if you’re not able to see each other in person this year and she’ll keep the little note/card forever! The little teddy bear roses are another cute twist to make it a little different and more special; they last a while too.

For Him:

  • A Watch:
I’ve seen so many more people with Smart Watches and Fitbits recently as they’re said to be really good for keeping in shape and on top of  your fitness while gyms are closed or if you’re looking to spend a bit more then a more wearable, stylish watch could be a good option too.
  • A Speaker/ Record Player or Headphone:
Everyone loves their music, so speakers are always a fail safe idea or if they’re a little more old school, record players are a big thing at the moment. Obviously if they already have a record player, new vinyls will always be a good idea. If they’re more of an on the go listener, headphones are another good idea, I’d recommend Beats but Airpods are also great as well as many cheaper options too!
  • Aftershave:
Aftershave always seems like the go-to option but it can be a little hard if you’re not 100% sure on what they like or the one they reach for; if you know their go-to, you’re good to go! If not, maybe get an idea for their signature scent and see if you can find a good alternative?
  • Wallet/ Belt:
Another obvious option people always think of when it comes to buying for men are clothes or accessories including a wallet, a belt, trainers, skincare (if they’re into that) etc.
  • IOU Experience/ Trip:
There may be a lot of IOU prezzies to give this year but it’s always nice to have something to look forward to, especially at the moment. Whether it’s an experience, day trip, weekend away or staycation, there are so many things you can plan to do to celebrate for when we’re allowed to do those things.

Lockdown Date Ideas:

  • Order Cookies/ Cocktails/ Sweets:
Nowadays, especially in the past year, there are so many different businesses that you can pretty much order anything to your door. From sweets and chocolate, to cocktails, desserts and so much more. It’s always worth checking Instagram for some small local businesses to support.
  • A Champagne Breakfast Box:
I didn’t actually think of something like this until I came across the Fortnum & Mason website and they have SO MUCH to offer. They have a number of different boxes to order including champagne and truffles, a breakfast box and this champagne breakfast box. This one comes with bread, jams, teas, eggs, smoked salmon, cakes and, of course, the champers; YUM. It’s such a nice thing to do either as a surprise or just for both of you to look forward to and there’s no hassle for you. There is a limited postal area on these packages but there are a number of small businesses that do similar boxes.
  • Takeaway Roulette:
If you aren’t going to be together this year and date nights going to be virtual, a great way to spend it is with takeaway roulette. You order a takeaway for the other person, drinks, mains, desserts … everything! Maybe do this as a double date with friends as it’ll be more fun with more people and you can pick a name out of a hat or have a budget to spice things up!
