Happy Easter Weekend my lovelies, how are we all? A 4-day weekend, fingers crossed we get some more sun, all that chocolate we’re about to consume; what’s not to look forward to? I really wanted to do an Easter makeup look for the blog this year as I didn’t get around to doing it last year, but I also wanted to show you my glowy skin base, so I thought it would be a great idea to share them in one post. For today’s look I went for a super glowy, medium coverage base with some more natural fluffy brows and a bold green cut crease with a pop of pink; so, let’s see how I created today’s glam and how you can to.
Base:
I honestly couldn’t wait to get going on the skin, which is unusual for me because usually I’m all about the eyes. After moisturising with a gel based moisturiser from Revolution, I primed with the Baking Oil also from Revolution. This smells so incredible, it’s like lemon drizzle and it gives your skin the nicest glow without being overly greasy. For foundation, I wanted to go with something more lightweight on the skin so I used the NYX Bare with Me Tinted Skin Veil and mixed it with the EX1 Invisiwear Foundation as this is a little darker and makes the perfect match for my skin tone. I’m still trying to get through some products I’ve had in my collection for a while, so they don’t go to waste so I reached into the depths of my concealer draw to get my Urban Decay Naked Concealer before applying some of the Figs & Rouge Elixir Drops in Charm to give me a little bit of a glow and then baking my skin with the Laura Mercier Loose Powder. Instead of going for a matte bronzer, I decided to go ham on the I Heart Revolution Chocolate Hearts which is a baked bronzer and has a slight shimmer to it. This bronzer blends so well, but it is quite orangey, so I recommend using a big fluffy brush and blending a lot. Another product I’ve been really trying to use up is my MAC Blush in Just A Wisp, which actually isn’t sold anymore so that probably shows how little I use this nowadays, but I put a little bit too much of this on too haha! I then dusted off my bake and set my face with the ABH Dewy Set Setting Spray to take the powdery finish away and this really helps to give you that dewy, glowy finish. I can see this routine becoming my go-to as it get’s warmer over the next few weeks.
Brows:
Throughout lockdown I’ve really been embracing more natural, bushy brows and honestly, I’m in no rush to get them done, even when the salons reopen. I decided to use my trust Benefit Gimmie Brow in shade 4 and fill in any more sparse areas with Precisely My Brow Pencil also from Benefit. I only ever use Benefit products on my brows nowadays, but they just work so well together and (as they say) if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. If you have naturally thin brows and would like to make them a little thicker, without them looking OTT, then I’d highly recommend this combo.
Eyes:
I can’t tell you just how much I love how this look turned out, the shades in this palette are unlike any other palette I have in my collection. I decided to get out my Makeup Obsessions LA Dreams palette, as it hasn’t been used in a while and it has the most gorgeous pastels, pinks, greens, purples and lots of shimmers too, which just screams Spring to me. I primed my lids with the P.Louise Base and then set the lids with Milkshake before picking up a mix of Surfs Up and Vibes and blending them through the crease. The shades in this palette, particularly the darker ones, are very pigmented so a light hand and lots of blending is needed. I then blended Smoothie Please above the crease to make the blend seamless before cutting the crease, again with the P.Louise Base, and packing on Palm Tree’s; this shade is a lot brighter of a green in-person, however it looks really light in the photo’s below. To finish off the eyes, I blended a mix of Beverly Hills and Bikini, popped on some ABH Lash Brag Mascara and my all time fave lashes which are the Kiss Lashes in Chiffon.
Lips:
Finally for the lips, I decided to go for a gloss to compliment, but not draw attention away from the eyes. I’ve been enjoying a darker nude lip these last couple of months and I don’t know if I’m quite ready to swap it out for more spring shades. I went with my trusty NYX Lip Liner in Cappuccino, which I’ve had for a long time and I think it’s been discontinued; that must be my sign that it’s time to part ways! I then topped it with the Fenty Gloss Bomb in Fu$$y which is a gorgeous shimmery pink; this gloss actually looks just as good on it’s own because it’s quite pigmented.
