My Updated Beauty Favourites for August ’21.

Well it’s been a while, hasn’t it? First of all I wanted to address the fact that I’ve been MIA for quite a while now, probably the longest I have been since I started this blog nearly 5 years ago, but sometimes life gets busy and things have to get prioritised. Unfortunately for the blog, it had to take a back seat; starting new jobs can be a busy time anyway, never mind 2. However, now I’m feeling very inspired and have ideas buzzing round my head for a good few months to come. Anyway enough of that, let’s kick back off with a good old favourites post!

EX1 Delete Fluid Concealer:

After using and absolutely loving the EX1 Foundation for years, I thought it was about time I try out their concealer. I have been in need of a new concealer for a while as I haven’t moved from the Revolution Conceal & Define since it came out like 3 or more years ago. This one has a squeezey tube, similar to the MAC PRO longwear one, which I’m not actually a big fan of, I’ve just always prefers doe foot ones, but this actually applies really nicely. It’s not thick but isn’t watery which makes for great application to dot on with the fingers and blend out with your desired blender. I always go for sponges and this applied so seamlessly with it and set without sticking to my dry under eyes or into any creases. It can definitely look cakey and a little oily after a while so I’d say less is more and a good setting powder will always have your back.

Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Primer:

Ole Henrikson products have been on my Wishlist for quite a while now as the brand has been raved about so much in the beauty industry in recent months and I was so excited when I saw that this came in the Molly-Mae x Cosmetips box; not gonna lie was probably the product that made me decide to make the purchase overall. This has been so good for the warmer weather as it’s really smooth and creamy but also light weight and sinks into the skin without feeling heavy or like it’s crumbling when mixed with my skincare products. Honestly I never know weather primers actually work or if it’s just a bonus on top of skincare but I love the way this makes my skin feel and sets it up for makeup.

Fenty Gloss Bomb in Diamond Milk:

After being all about the matte lips for as long as I can remember, this summer I became obsessed with the gloss and now glosses are all I reach for. I have been using Fu$$y for months now, so I was over the moon when I saw this one had come in the Molly-Mae box. This gloss is a very light milky pearl shade with reflects and it really compliments lots of makeup looks, whether it be on it’s own or  paired with a dark lip line; the dark liner is my favourite combo at the moment and looks bomb with the reflects. I would say the gloss doesn’t feel that smooth and buttery on the lips as you can slightly feel the glitter pieces but this doesn’t make your lips feel dry, it’s just a heads up as I know some people won’t like that.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder:

Next up we have my trusty CT Flawless Finish Powder which I’ve recently started using again. I use this all over my face as it gives such a flawless finish and a little bit of extra coverage too; I do however, still like to bake around my chin and nose to make sure I don’t get too oily. As much as I love this powder and how it’s a staple in my makeup collection, it is a little pricey compared to a lot of other just as good powders. It wasn’t until recently that I found out the No7 Airbrush Away Powder is identical to this one and it’s over half the price so I will definitely be trying that one out afterwards instead.

Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Fantascene Palette:

This eye shadow palette is another product that came in the Molly-Mae box and for so long after receiving it, I left it untouched; that was until te clubs reopened and I was able to get that little bit more glam which I have missed so much. This palette has the most beautiful neutral colour story, quite a few shimmers and also a stunning gold and burgundy which will both be perfect for the autumn. The shadows are really smooth and easy to blend with very good colour pay off, which I’d always expect from Marc Jacobs.
