It’s Christmas week Eeeek!! I can’t quite believe how quickly this month has gone; I’ve been loving uploading more regularly. Only 3 posts to go now and for tonight I’m sharing a Christmassy full glam makeup look. After sharing my Festive Makeup Look in a recent post, it really inspired me to do more makeup after quite a whole without picking up a brush, mainly because I’ve had no motivation or inspiration. I’m feeling back to my old self and ready to keep painting my face, so let’s see what look I created this time!
Base:
I always stick to really glowy looks, but for this one I wanted to do something completely matte. I went for a full coverage, bronzey base with rosy cheeks courtesy of the iconic MAC Blush in Melba. I tried out a couple of new products including the Revlon Candid Concealer, No7 Flawless Finishing Setting Powder and the Illamasqua Hydra Veil Primer, which I’ve only used once or twice before so I was still trying to work out how well it works for my skin and how much I like it. The concealer is very full coverage, blends really easily without the cakey look under the eyes and shade 001 has a yellow tone to it and that really helps with brightening. The No7 Powder is really comparable to the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Powder which I’ve tried, tested and love and also, so I’ve heard, the MAC Mineralize Skinfinishes that I haven’t tried yet.
I’ve had this primer for a while now I think, but have always kept it in my ‘to try’ draw in my collection and just never did, until recently. After a couple of tries, I knew just how much I liked this primer. I’ve always thought they were a little bit of a placebo but this one sets my skin up so nicely for makeup. Its really smoothing, because it has a silicone, jelly kinda consistency it fills in pores and its still quite hydrating even though it gives more of a matte finish. I use this all over my face even though I have combination skin; although it does work better on my oily areas, it also doesn’t stick to any dry patches but fills in the pores I’m so conscious about. I cannot tell you how much I recommend giving this a try, especially if you have quite big pore / oily skin.

Eyes:
My brow routine hasn’t changed hardly at all in the last year or so, so I’m not going to talk about it too much. I went for Benefits Precisely My Brow Pencil and the Gimme Brow Gel. I was going to use my new fave Refy Brow Gel too as I love it so much but I do feel like it makes my brows quite dry so I’m giving them a break from it for a bit. I wanted to go for a more neutral eye because I knew I’d go for a red lip and it was a toss up between the Charlotte Tilbury Easy Eye Palette and the Marc Jacobs Eyeshadow Palette 790 Fantascene one but I decided to go with the Marc Jacobs as it has a couple of darker colours to add some depth.
For the crease colour, I just a mix of Covets and Fantasy before deepening the crease with For More. I always take the lightest shade under my brows to make the blend completely seamless and, for this palette, that’s Flesh. I cut the crease with the trusty P Louise Base in shade 1 before going over it with Meet Ya which is a gorgeous bronze shimmer. You literally need the tiniest bit of this shadow because it’s so pigmented and creamy and blends like a dream.
I discovered Grays Lashes through Cain (the owners) TikTok before the first lockdown and I’ve been following his and Grays Lashes journey since. I’ve tried his brow and lash serum and absolutely loved it (that reminds me, I need to order some more actually) and so I wanted to try out the lashes. There are too many lashes on his site for me to pick from so I went for the first pair that looked a bit ‘me’ and they’re the Maddi Lashes. They’re quite small and fluffy but still short enough to not drown my small eyes. For the mascara, I just went with one of my faves in my collection at the moment, the ABH Lash Brag.
