Well hello all and welcome to my first post of 2023. I don’t know about you, but I have a love and hate for new years, but I hope you’ve all had a good start to the year. Let’s kick off this year with a good old favourites post. It’s been a while since I’ve shared a monthly favourites and I forgot just how much I love sharing posts like this; just as much as I love reading them and being a little nosey.
First up is the 17 Second Skin Enhancing Concealer. I bought this in shade 002 as felt shade 1 was a bit too light but this turned out to be more of a cream bronzer shade, so that’s what I have been using it for. I’ve not really been one to use cream bronzers in the past but this has become a real go-to and I love how flawless it makes my base look. It also seems to make a full face a lot quicker if you just set, there’s not even a need to powder bronze if you don’t want too.
This haul has a few items that are going, or have recently gone viral, in the beauty world. The first one being a pink loose face powder. There are so many different ones, but as they were all sold out, this Morphe one was the only one I could get my hands on. I was a little worried at first, because I’ve only ever used translucent or banana powders under the eyes. I’m actually pleasantly surprised with this, it does change the face, brighten the under eyes to hide the bags and finishes off the base nicely. If you use too much though, I found it can make your whole base look a bit strange, but just the right amount and it brightens up the under eyes!
Next up is on of my all time favourite foundations, the EX1 Invisiwear Liquid Foundation. I remember including this in one of my first ever blog posts and it’s still very much a favourite. The shade range, coverage, glowy finish and the way it lasts on the skin; all for just £12.50. No wonder it’s a makeup artist fave. If you’re still on the hunt for an affordable but good quality foundation with good coverage, without looking cakey, this is one I can really recommend giving a try.
Another product you’ve probably seen everyone go mad for in the beauty world, particularly on TikTok, is the IsoClean makeup brush cleaner. A quick, easy and convenient way to clean makeup brushes, which I find to be the most tedious and time consuming job. A quick spritz, wipe off on the cloth that it comes with, dry within 60 seconds, it’s antibacterial and no need to rinse; not to love? I’ve used a couple of times, once for a bit clean and another for the odd brush when needed and I’m absolutely over the moon with this purchase.
I also wanted to share some of my new FemmeLuxe bits! A lil haul with some comfies and a stunning dress.
Firstly we have the Navy Satin Shaped Cup Mini Dress. I’ve been wanting a navy dress to add to my wardrobe, as I’ve been really loving wearing dresses more recently and this one’s perfect for something more dressy or you can dress it down a bit with trainers (which is brill because I’m not a heel gal). A basic piece, but has a cute neckline and fits and hugs the figure. I love how this dress looks on but unfortunately don’t have the boobs to fill out the top, so I may have to try the smaller size if it fits!!
I’ve had these Chocolate Cuffed Joggers before, but I decided to size down as they were to big for me. These fit a lot better, they are better around the waist but aren’t fitted so they are super comfy and soft inside. I will be living in these with this cold, wet weather we have been having!
Lastly, I picked up the Black Crop Ribbed Two Piece Co-ord Set. I love me some lounge wear, especially ones that don’t look too much like pyjamas and can wear them out. I love me so flares and paired with a crop top, I don’t think there’s a place where I wouldn’t wear this. FemmeLuxe always sorts me out with comfies, my wardrobe is full of them!
Sooo that brings us to the end of this years January + February favourites; I hope you enjoyed the read. If you would like to see more of these style posts throughout the year, please do let me know and I’ll be sure to do them! I hope you all have a lovely weekend and I will see you very soon with a new post!
