My 2024 Favourites + Empties! | Blogmas

Good evening all and Happy Christmas Eve! It’s finally here and is now time for a bit of a rest, relax and recuperation to prepare for 2025. That also means that it’s the last post of Blogmas this year, but it’s a big one full of all my favourites of the year and the emptied of the products I’ve used up and my thoughts on them! I really hope you’re enjoying these favourites posts as it is my 3rd of this month, but now it’s time for the ultimate yearly one!

Favourites-

Michael Kors ‘Gorgeous’ Perfume:

Let’s start off with the favourites and we have the Michael Kors Gorgeous Perfume. I originally found this back in May or June this year in a gift set. There were 3 sample perfumes in the set including Wonderlust and Sexy Amber. I still have nearly full bottles of the others but I used Gorgeous so quickly that I ended up receiving a full size bottle for my Birthday.

Top notes: Pink Pepper, Bergamot, Mandarin

Heart notes: Jasmine Sambac, Tuberose, Ylang, Orange Flower, Tobacco Accord

Base notes: Cashmeran, Cedarwood, Suede Accord, Tonka Bean, Guaiac Wood

With pink pepper and bergamot, I could just tell it was gonna be a ME fragrance. Although I’m not really a floral lover as such, (which is what this is described as) the other notes very much over power it. I believe you can get 100ml for just £66 which is good already, but it’s still in the sale at the time of writing this, on The Perfume Shop for £45.99. I will 100% be continuing to repurchase.

Sanctuary Spa Shower Oil:

Next up is the Sanctuary Spa Shower Oil. Like most, prior to this I had only used shower gels but, early this year, I had read quite a bit about the benefits of using a shower oil. One post in particular that I read was from Vase Studio and you can have a read here. Particularly during the winter my skin struggles and gets particularly dry, even with body lotion, so doubling up and using an oil in the shower it gives my skin a little bit of a chance; it needs all the help it can get. You do have to be careful as this can make the shower a little slippery after use but it smells so nice, hydrated the skin with minimal effort and leave you feeling smooth and hydrated.

The Inky List Tripeptide Plumping Balm:

I don’t know about you, but this Lip Balm took over my phone with ads probably at the beginning of this year, begging me to try it out. If you read the description of this you’ll find yourself going ‘yes, yes and yes PLEASE’. I’ll share a brief part with you ‘Perfect for those prone to dryness and cracking, the balm can be applied three times a day to protect the skin barrier, offer instant quenching moisture and improve overall lip health.’ What more could you want in a lip balm. They also say that over time it plumps your lips over time which, I can’t say I have noticed, but I do have lip filler so I don’t really need it to anyway.

Although it’s clear, it is super shiny and very much looks like a gloss; whether on its own, with a little lip liner underneath or even to wear over a lip stick… you’re sorted.

The Edge Nails Gelover Polish in Role Model:

Next up is a new nail polish brand that I haven’t actually tried yet (to be honest I’m not sure if it’s called The Edge Nails or Gelover) and it wouldn’t be right for me not to mention at least one nail polish as I’m always hooked on at least one. The only gels I ever really use are the CND Shellac ones, however I remember this one being on sale and the exact shade I was looking for, so I thought why not give it a try? I was looking for a bright red to wear in the summer, as red is a colour that can be worn year round, but a burgundy isn’t really summery so I thought a bright one would be fitting. This one is more of a mix of red and orange and, I must say, even though this seems to be quite a cheap brand the quality is pretty good. Just 2 coats is needed for a completely opaque and shiny finish; I can’t wait to whip this out again when the warm weather returns; whenever that may be.

Colouring Books:

Colouring has completely taken over my For You page on TikTok this year, as it has for many others. Back in June or July time I was utterly obsessed with spending my evenings watching Colouring to Chillax and lots of other creators live streams of them colouring. I decided to pick up a couple of books at first, but ended up with probably about 10. I am constantly looking at more but having to tell myself to finish these ones first; as my mum used to, but as I’m an adult now with adult money I need to remind myself this at time.

I did invest in the Sanjoki markers and they are soo much better than the cheaper set I had prior. Perfect for opaque coverage, streak free and seamlessly blends. Although the Ohuhu markers are said to be a lot better (and I should think so to with the price tag) I am sticking with these ones as, even though they are a little pricey, they work perfectly for what I use them for! A couple of my favourite books include the Cozy Kitchen, Sweet Hearts and Cozy Girl; although Cozy Girl is my ultimate favourite. These are all the Bold & Easy ones as they work best with these markers due to the fact their alcohol markers and they ‘bleed’ outwards. I can’t wait to finish the rest up and be able to order some more books!

Empties-

L’Oreal Professionals Scalp Advanced Shampoo:

Moving onto the empties now and we have the L’Oreal Professionals Scalp Advanced Shampoo for greasy hair. I am not one of those people that can wash and style their hair and be done for the week. After around 1-2 days it starts to feel slightly greasy and is begging for a wash and restyle. I have been trying to train my hair to go at least a few days and that all starts with a good hair care routine and, more importantly, a good shampoo. This one is made particularly for greasy hair and helps with removing the buildup and detoxing the scalp. Although I have now finished this and started using other shampoos, which you can read all about in my Hair Care Routine post should you wish too, I did really like it and had to be my favourite shampoo I have used in a while. I am sure I will go back to this one shortly, but I do need to use a color protecting shampoo so we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base:

This is another product I have had for quite a while and, after loving it and basically using it up instantly, I had a small around left that I must’ve been saving. So, after rediscovering this at the bottom of my makeup draws, I put this into my makeup bag to make sure I remember to start using it again. I find some primers that are mattifying or silicone consistency they can be quite drying but this one is basically like a moisturiser. If I’m using a foundation with SPF, I even completely leave out using moisturiser and just use this. This feels amazing on the skin, such a smooth and hydrating base and smells amazing. This is another product that I MUST repurchase soon; I just forgot how much I loved it and also why I loved it so much.

Vitamin E Skincare Gentle Oat Cleanser:

This may be a fairly new favourite of the year as I only picked this up for my holiday back in September and we all know how tricky it is travelling with just hand luggage; that calls for minis and multi use products. This is a daily cleanser and, although it exfoliates, it isn’t harsh on the skin. It leaves my skin feeling soft, clean and clear from impurities such as blackheads. Even though I thought this would be a one and done product which was bought out of convenience, I will definitely be regularly repurchasing and keeping this in my skincare draw at all times.

No7 Stay Perfect Foundation in Calico:

I have used and loved this foundation for soo many years but randomly one day stopped using all together. I just left it sitting in my makeup draw hoping to be used. A few weeks ago, I saw on boots that the packaging had changed and I knew it was time to think about finishing it up. I was shade matched in Boots maybe 10 years ago to the shade Calico. Although this has light to medium coverage, it is buildable which I would call it the perfect day to night foundation. It has a natural glow and doesn’t stop in the fine lines and creases; exactly what I need right now.  At £16.95 it is a low to mid range  priced product but with the quality of high end. If you haven’t tried a No7 foundation (or any of their other products as well) I highly recommend doing so.

And that is all. Blogmas 2024 may have come to an end but, I will be back shortly with more posts for you all. I hope you all have a lovely Christmas, sometime out and time to relax before the start of the New Year.

If you haven’t already, you can catch up on all the other Blogmas posts here!
